Are you a Tier 2 technician who thrives in a hands-on environment, values autonomy, and enjoys solving real-world problems? Applied Innovation is looking for a dedicated, experienced IT professional to join our Managed Network Services team in a hybrid client-facing and internal support role.
In this position, you'll spend three days each week at a key client site supporting their internal IT operations, and the remaining two days at our Grand Rapids office working with our broader IT team. This is not a field tech role—it's a true Tier 2 position focused on problem-solving, project execution, and infrastructure support in professional environments.
You’ll be the go-to person for diagnosing complex issues, supporting user systems, and helping improve how technology supports business across multiple environments.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the primary Tier 2 technician at a dedicated client site three days/week
- Provide advanced support for Windows, macOS, servers, Microsoft Entra/Active Directory, Exchange, O365, and network environments
- Troubleshoot escalated desktop, server, network, and infrastructure issues
- Assist with patching, upgrades, security tools, cloud configuration, and documentation
- Work collaboratively with Tier 1 and Tier 3 teams to close loops on tickets and projects
- Maintain and update documentation in our internal systems and client-facing portals
- Travel between our Grand Rapids office and assigned client locations (all local)

You’ll Excel If You Have
- 3+ years of experience in a technical support or systems administration role
- Proficiency supporting environments with:
- Microsoft Entra AD and O365
- Windows/macOS workstation support
- Exchange (on-premise/hybrid)
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Anti-virus and content filtering platforms
- Wired and wireless network troubleshooting
- Strong documentation habits and customer communication skills
- A high degree of self-motivation, problem-solving, and professionalism
Requirements
- 3+ years in IT-related support or systems roles
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- One of the following certifications (or ability to earn within 90 days):
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Other relevant technical certification
