Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Sustainability Clerk is responsible for running and growing Applied Innovation’s Sustainability Program, coordinating with internal teams, customers, and vendors to support sustainability initiatives and related logistics. The role also performs core shipping and receiving duties. The position collaborates closely with Distribution Center operations, the Customer Loyalty Center, Supply and Inventory Control, and other cross-functional partners to resolve issues and meet service expectations. This is a full-time, onsite position, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., located at 3223 Kraft Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments.
- Prepare and package outgoing equipment and supplies.
- Add setup supplies to new equipment orders.
- Maintain setup supply inventory across multiple locations.
- Keep the shipping and receiving area organized, clean, and efficient.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support operational needs.
- Coordinating and executing recycling and collection initiatives (e-waste, toner/ink, batteries, packaging) and ensuring proper handling, staging, and documentation.
- Acting as a day-to-day contact for internal teams, customers, and vendors on sustainability pickups/shipments and schedules.
- Tracking activity (quantities/weights, certificates, records) and supporting reporting/continuous improvement.
- Promoting participation by communicating steps, keeping collection areas organized/labeled, and reinforcing safe handling Partner with co-workers across Setup, Warehouse, Customer Loyalty, and Inventory Control to meet operational goals.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and security requirements.
- Occasional travel to other Applied Innovation locations.
- Understanding and alignment with the organization’s core values.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn and navigate company software for inventory control (bins, transfers, locations).
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to following procedures and policies.
- Self-sufficient, motivated, and team-oriented with a positive, receptive attitude
- Ability to move up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education / License / Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs in the past 5 years).
